I started writing this song when I was listening to a J-pop playlist on Apple Music and wondered, “If I wanted to make contemporary pop music, could I?”
The music I have made so far is also a piece of work that is far removed from how I started making it and the finished version, so honestly, the genesis of the idea when I start making a piece of music can be anything.
The only other thing I have roughly decided is that I want to use a fast BPM, drum’n’bass style beat pattern. I was a teenager in the late 90’s when drum’n’bass was at its peak. and this is the kind of sound I was most influenced by and liked.
First, make only the general chord progression, singing melody and beat, then export the singing melody as MIDI data and load it into the VOCALOID editor.
The lyrics are not created to match the melody, but rather are created roughly, ignoring the melody for the time being, and then fine-tuned after they are applied to the melody.
The production took longer than usual due to the trial-and-error process, as I was not satisfied with the production.
Once he thought he had completed the project, but he still felt something was missing, so he started the DAW project again and resumed production.
I added the C melody at the end, and I was satisfied.
And this time, it was really finished.
